CHRIS DEEGAN - President and Chief Executive

Mr. Deegan was promoted into the position of President and Chief Executive in June 2016. He joined Gibbs & Cox as the Engineering Group Vice President in April 2013 following a distinguished 28 year civil service career with the US Navy. He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University, and a MS in Engineering from The Catholic University of America. In his naval acquisition career, Mr. Deegan was a member of the Department of the Navy’s Senior Executive Service (SES) for nearly ten years, serving in executive positions in the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) and the Assistant Secretary of the Navy Financial Management Budget office. Before his SES tours Mr. Deegan spent much of his career in submarine program management and in 1997 he was selected as a Brookings Fellow and served on Congressman John Murtha’s (House Appropriations Committee – Defense ranking member) personal staff.

KEVIN WHITE – Vice President, Finance & Administration Group

Mr. White is Vice President of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer of Gibbs and Cox, Inc. His entire business career has been at Gibbs and Cox, where he has advanced his career in positions of increasing responsibility. He has held the positions of Cost/Pricing Manager, Financial Accounting Manager, Assistant Treasurer and Treasurer. Mr. White possesses a combination of cost accounting and financial accounting capabilities, which enhances the team he supports. His experience enables him to identify and implement process improvements that control costs, increase accuracy, consistency and efficiency.

BENEDICT P. CAPUCO – Vice President, Chief Naval Architect (CNA)

As CNA, Mr. Capuco is responsible for overall technical oversight and guidance in strategic naval architecture capabilities and initiatives necessary to achieve the technical standards and business plans of the Corporation. He is a senior advisor to the Corporation on technical matters, and is responsible for identifying and assessing tools, processes, procedures, methods, upgrades, acquisitions, quality assurance and strategic training initiatives that support the strategic direction of the Corporation, and helps lead the Corporation’s internal research & development (IRaD) investments.

 

THOMAS SCHUBERT, P.E., PMP – Vice President, Chief Engineering Officer (CHENG)

As CHENG, Mr. Schubert is responsible for overall technical oversight and guidance in strategic engineering capabilities and initiatives necessary to achieve the technical standards and business plans of the Corporation. He is the senior advisor to the Corporation on all technical matters, and is responsible for identifying and assessing tools, processes, procedures, methods, upgrades, acquisitions, quality assurance and strategic training initiatives that support the strategic direction of the Corporation, and is the focal point for our internal research & development (IRaD) investments.

 

MATTHEW HANS – Vice President, Platform Solutions Group

Mr. Hans is currently Vice President, Platform Solutions Group, where he is responsible for managing Company’s operations for the business growth and management of all major ship design programs including US Navy, Coast Guard, commercial, offshore and other maritime areas. In this role Mr. Hans has profit and loss responsibility including management, cost and schedule control for all Platform Solutions programs, as well as responsibility for oversight of the quality assurance of program deliverables in coordination with G&C technical Group Managers.. He is also responsible for ensuring the professional development of program, project or task managers and project support staff within the Group.

JONATHAN APPLEQUIST – Vice President, Maritime Services Group

Mr. Jonathan Applequist is the Vice President and Group Manager, Maritime Services Group, where he is responsible for managing company programs and contracts that are associated with direct support to Government clients. Mr. Applequist has profit and loss responsibility including management, cost and schedule control for all Government Services programs, and is ultimately responsible for Quality Assurance of Program Deliverables through coordination with the Technical Group Managers. He is responsible for growth and business development within all Government Services lines of business. He is also responsible for ensuring the professional development of Program Managers and Project support staff within the Group.

 

KEVIN PRINCE – Vice President, Engineering Group

Mr. Prince was promoted to Vice President of the Engineering Group in July of 2016.  He is responsible for the vision, leadership, and management of the Engineering Group towards the development, implementation, and sustainment of the policies and practices that guide the Engineering Group in providing expert naval architecture and marine engineering solutions.  These solutions address all engineering activities through the full range of ship design and lifecycle sustainment for both naval and commercial clients.

 

 

KEITH HARPER – Vice President, Design Group

Mr. Harper was promoted to Vice President of the Design Group in May of 2015. In this role he is responsible for the development and delivery of detail design drawings and products supporting the full range of G&C Clients. Mr. Harper is also responsible for the Design Group’s shipyard liaison support and life cycle and sustainment projects and activates.Mr. Harper began his career in the maritime industry in 1984 as a HVAC Designer working for various companies, including Gibb & Cox, where he was responsible for developing Detailed installation and Fabrication drawings supporting the installation of Chilled Water, Steam and HVAC systems in various types of Commercial and Naval surface vessels as well as several Classes of Submarines.

RAY SHELDON– Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Sheldon is Chief Operating Officer for the corporation with global responsibilities for the complete range of business and project operations throughout the company. He is responsible for managing the full spectrum of corporate operations, including strategic planning, corporate organizational development, business development planning, as well as program/project management, technical performance, and operations financial/contractual oversight.Prior to joining G&C, Inc., Mr. Sheldon served in senior management and executive positions within the maritime industry including, Vice President Operations CDI Marine, Vice President CSC Advanced Marine Center and Vice President Design and Acquisition Management Advanced Marine Enterprises. He began his career as a hydrodynamicist where his work focused on solutions to ship and submarine operational problems including seakeeping, ship control and propulsor integration. In his leadership positions, Mr. Sheldon has managed business operations for marine industry firms with U.S. Navy, Army and Coast Guard, and international and commercial clients. Services provided include program management, engineering services, IT solutions and training systems.
